In Search Of Zen Album
- Now available for free download!In Search Of Zen now Online!It's taken me a few weeks, months, and years to finally get down to releasing an Album but I've finally done it. To avoid any more complications and delays, I've made it a free album you can download and enjoy. The next album (which is already in progress) will be sold through Google Play.In Search Of Zen is more of a Compilation of tracks, new and old, that I've made and experimented with. I've tried to select a few tracks that I thought were relaxing, even going as far as producing one or two brand new tracks specifically for the Album.It may have started life as an E.P., but I hope you enjoy all the work I've put into this. The timeline spans between 2009 and 2013, and there's still so much more to come.

About
- What is Gigitsu?The whole story begins around 2005 when I heard about a schoolmate that was producing tracks. Wanting to try my hand at it, I decided to get myself some demo software and experiment with some basic hip-hop beats. As I developed a knowledge on how to arrange and sequence my samples, I started getting into other software and various synthesiser and samples to broaden the spectrum.
Going under the alias of D-Livid and hoping to found what would eventually be called "The Asylum!", I eventually got into FL Studio and started producing my own take on Hip-Hop which I called Elektro-Hop because of the distinct use of Synths rather than just using samples. Besides that I started to experiment with Kwaito-House as well as Progressive Trance, the latter being the real base for what Gigitsu Music is today.
Fast forward a few years to the little "accident" I had which in turn ended up in me losing the originals to about 50 or so tracks, I got fed up and decided to call it quits having lost so much work and so much free time with it. But it didn't end there. With a growing passion for Trance and Chill-out/Ambient and being jobless at the time, I decided to produce just one more track as a self prescribed stress release therapy. The result would be known as "Surrealism", which marked the beginning of a new Era. The original is still available on YouTube and various other share sites under the D-Livid pseudonym although it has been remastered under the Gigitsu moniker.
After falling in love with my new work, 2009 marked the beginning of the Gigitsu Music project and myself going under the Gigi d'Autriche alias. From there on my main focus was to forget about mainstream and "profit" and instead focus on creating what I wanted to hear just for the sake of creating and sharing it. With influences coming from all across the board, I started out my new work. Listening to artists like Thomas Newman, Oceanlab, Chicane, Tiesto, Frank Borell, Vangelis, Moby, Brian Eno and various other artists in various genres, I developed a real passion for musical scores and rich string ensembles.
Someone has asked me where I get my inspiration from. I usually get it from scenery and visualising. I can look at a mountain and almost immediately hear a melody. As for the actual producing, I take elements and styles from many different artists and songs and try to incorporate them into my own work. Some songs are soft and gentle like those of Thomas Newman, some can be more perky and quick like some of the work composed by Antonio Vivaldi.
Just to avoid confusion, I do produce under both the Gigitsu and Gigi d'Autriche aliases.
Gigitsu is normally for the more gentler, calmer music.
Gigi d'Autriche is for the slightly harder, more electronic/dance music and the mix sets I do now and again.
Fun fact: At the time I created the project, I had chosen the name Gigitsu as a combination of my own nickname and the martial art, Jiu Jitsu. Only about a year ago did I actually realize that Jiu Jitsu was derived from Jujutsu which, roughly translated from Japanese into English, means "Gentle Art".

- As big headed or narcissistic as it may sound, I make music for myself. That way my motives are clearer, simpler, and purer. I create the sounds that I want to hear and only share them with the world when I'm content. That's how you know I'll always deliver what's really come from the heart and soul and never something produced for my own personal gain :) Hope you're enjoying the sounds as much as I am

- More delays for the E.P. My schedule is backed up pretty badly. Definitely won't be seeing anything in the next 2 to 3 weeks. On the plus side, the track list is coming together, albeit very slowly.

- Title track for "In Search Of Zen" is complete. Just need an album cover now before I upload the E.P. and release it.
- Going to start choosing some cover art tonight for the "In Search Of Zen" E.P.. I'm thinking of going with 5 or 6 tracks for now.

- Seeing as I've got so many tracks done, I've decided to FINALLY go ahead and release an EP. "In Search Of Zen" will drop as soon as I finish the title track and will be available for FREE download. The EP will showcase a couple of my more chilled out tracks under the Gigitsu pseudonym. Still deciding how many and which ones.
- SoundCloud = 300+ followers now and over 6000 plays since I started. Am I too critical of my work or do people genuinely enjoy it? Granted, it's not for most, but I think there's always a little bit of something for everyone in what I create. I don't like to be confined to specific Genres. Half the time I don't even know how/where to categorise what I've made. "Experimental" is the only one that really defines my style, I guess.
- Track number #3 from my weekend Trifecta. It's been on my hard drive just like Stratosphere and Félicité. Sonic Assault is the only new thing I came with this weekend. Enjoy!

- Ancient Aliens or Why I Can't Watch This Crap Anymore.
A couple of years ago, the History Channel started broadcasting a show called Ancient Aliens. The premise of the show was to explore the possibility, with what I believed at the time was factual evidence, that the ancient cultures had been visited and influenced by extraterrestrial visitors.
Now, I’m not one to call bullshit on that theory in general. In fact, I find the Ancient Astronaut theories quite interesting. Even more interesting are the theories that what the ancient cultures believed were Gods, were merely extraterrestrial visitors with technologies so much more advanced than our own.
My problem? After watching a documentary and doing a little research of my own, I came to realise that the supposed “evidence” and “facts” brought forward throughout the entire series were mere lies and deceptions. Going back again and watching some of the episodes, some of the blatant lies start to come to light. I’m only bitter because one would expect a “History” Channel to at least broadcast a show with actual facts about history, not something that should belong on the Sci-Fi channel.
If anyone else is curious about the various facts that have been falsely interpreted or altered to suit the premise of the show, please have a look at the website below and watch the video. It’s 3 hours long but it covers everything Ancient Aliens has lied about WITH references to various sources of information so YOU can research it all yourself and make your own judgement.
